Hello + welcome to this tiny space on the internet! I created this blog (+ changed the name twice since) 14 years ago as a creative outlet from my career in the emergency room as a PA. After spending the past 7 (or so) years on social media outlets, I have decided to delete all of the ones associated with this blog and get back to the heart of blogging.
I am so incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to connect with a brand like ABLE who is truly trying to change the lives of women. I got my Abera tote from them years ago and it’s still my go-to bag. The company started out in Ethiopia trying to gives living wage jobs to women who were in the sex industry (trafficking, prostituting to put food on the table, etc). When they expanded back in Nashville and as they grew, they added an amazing design team and also women from a nearby shelter/addiction-rehab facility to get them back on their feet and to empower them with a job. They are working in the warehouse and also helping make all the jewelry. We were able to meet some of them and hear their stories and they are INCREDIBLE. ABLE’s mission is to empower women and to maintain living wage as much as they possibly can which is why they are so transparent and always provide their lowest wages on their website and even in store. When you purchase anything from ABLE, you aren’t just purchasing something to wear, you are HELPING women overcome and giving them a new life.
Did you know that ABLE offers size swaps for any item that you own of theirs that you need exchanged? Did you go up or down a size? No problem! Just exchange yours for the size you need ANY TIME. I’ve had my Merly for about 4 years now and I need a larger size so I sent mine in and exchanged it for a larger size! I don’t know of any other brands that offer this.
They also offer a lifetime guarantee on ANY product that they sell.

1.) My Abera Tote | my beloved bag that I carry with me EVERYWHERE. It fits everything (even a laptop) and I have an organizer that I put into it so that it has more structure.
Link to the organizer that I place inside HERE
Here is the Abera from our recent trip! For more detail on the coloring and inside, refer to the video below! Mine is in the cognac color!
2.) Merly Denim Jacket | I would go up one size if you want this jacket to be a layering piece with sweaters underneath! This denim jacket is lived in and one of my favorite classic pieces in my wardrobe. This was one of my very first ABLE pieces years ago (along with the Abera tote)!
3.) Ryder V Neck Sweatshirt | A simple sweatshirt but the way it fits is perfection. The sleeve detail is my favorite and it’s just the right length to hit at the pant line. I got my typical size in this.
4.) Harriet Slouchy Sweater | I loved this so much that I also own it in gray. This sweater has the perfect slouchy fit (see video) and it’s incredibly soft. I went down a size.
5.) Virgil Earrings | I’ve had these for a few years and I always have people ask about them. I love their uniqueness and it makes my heart happy whenever I wear ABLE jewelry because of the amazing women that create their jewelry line. Many of them overcoming significant life hurdles and getting themselves back up on their feet.
6.) Ruby Dolman Cardigan | This is a great layering piece that I prefer pairing with leggings or a straight/skinny leg pant.
7.) Rachel Utility Bag | Such a beautiful bag with a ton of room and compartments! This is a great work bag and has plenty of space for all that you need including a laptop and pumping needs
8.) The Alem Utility Bag is also a great choice and can hold A LOT
9.) Karla Belt Bag | My good friend Karla did a collaboration with ABLE back in the spring to create this belt bag and you know how much I love a great belt bag! There are so many different ways to style this and it truly is a one size fits all.
10.) The Heritage Backpack | This is a great sized backpack that can keep you hands free and chic at the same time
11.) Mary Easy Pant | These are very similar to my pricey Na Nin pants except that they are a thicker material (allowing them to be worn into cooler weather) AND they have pockets! I really love the look of these and they come in black as well
I couldn’t get the code to work. I was trying to use on the Alem backpack. Love their leather!
Didn’t work for me either. Then I tried all caps…It’s case sensitive. Try that 🙂
I couldn’t get the bag code for 35% to work. Thank you for this!
I’m so excited about the size swap! I bought the Maha leather jacket a couple years ago and have “outgrown” it due to breastfeeding/pregnancy/life. It’s just been sitting in my closet but now they offer larger sizes and I’ve already initiated the swap! Thank you for posting about this. (Also, fyi there’s a typo on the FAQ banner below: frquently, missing the E :))
