Hello + welcome to this tiny space on the internet! I created this blog (+ changed the name twice since) 14 years ago as a creative outlet from my career in the emergency room as a PA. After spending the past 7 (or so) years on social media outlets, I have decided to delete all of the ones associated with this blog and get back to the heart of blogging.
If you didn’t get a chance to watch my IG stories from the other night about how ABLE was started and what they stand for, head over there and watch! I saved them to an ABLE highlight. I am so incredibly blessed to be able to connect with a brand like ABLE who is truly trying to change the lives of women. The company started out in Ethiopia trying to gives living wage jobs to women who were in the sex industry (trafficking, prostituting to put food on the table, etc). When they expanded back in Nashville and as they grew, they added an amazing design team and also women from a nearby shelter/addiction-rehab facility to get them back on their feet and to empower them with a job. They are working in the warehouse and also helping make all the jewelry. We were able to meet some of them and hear their stories and they are INCREDIBLE. ABLE’s mission is to empower women and to maintain living wage as much as they possibly can which is why they are so transparent and always provide their lowest wages on their website and even in store. When you purchase anything from ABLE, you aren’t just purchasing something to wear, you are HELPING women overcome and giving them a new life.
