Hello + welcome to this tiny space on the internet! I created this blog (+ changed the name twice since) 14 years ago as a creative outlet from my career in the emergency room as a PA. After spending the past 7 (or so) years on social media outlets, I have decided to delete all of the ones associated with this blog and get back to the heart of blogging.
It’s getting close to baby’s due date (next month!!!) and I wanted to create this post on 5 outfits for mom and baby going home from the hospital because I have had so many questions recently about it! This gives you options for both you and your baby and of course, these are all items you will wear OVER and OVER postpartum and for years beyond that as well. Many of these items are ones that are on heavy rotation in my own wardrobe, even now in the third trimester! After my first was born I really didn’t care AT ALL about my appearance or what I wore. That postpartum period was VERY hard for me with a colicky baby and I can tell you one thing that helped me immensely with my 2nd and 3rd babies…
Getting up and dressed a few mornings a week was a huge mood booster for me. Having a newborn doesn’t mean that you need to forget about YOU or take care of YOU. Make sure that you do whatever it is that makes you feel alive. For me, that is taking a shower and putting on an outfit that is COMFORTABLE but cute too! This helps my attitude for the rest of the day! It may not be possible EVERY single day, but that is OKAY. There will be many days of exhaustion and feeling defeat but I promise that if you just take 20 minutes to shower and put on some chapstick and a simple outfit, you’ll start feeling better. That and a little bit of chocolate can go a long way 😉 I hope you guys love the post!
If you feel comfortable doing so, I would love to see your outfits on the way home from the hospital if you took pictures of them! Send them to me through IG DMs! 🙂
