We moved into this house in 2015 knowing that we would eventually get to this mudroom & laundry entryway renovation. The house was run down, filled with cobwebs and the front yard had 2 feet of old leaves, tree stumps and trees blocking the view of the house. From mint green carpeting to hallways so small they don’t meet code – this house has been an adventure so far. We knew we had a lot of work to do to make it our own and that’s been the best part! This space was such an insane transformation and I am just so excited to see it all come together so beautifully! A huge thank you to Emily & her mother from Rehabitat Interiors for their help in making this space a reality. The space beforehand was very tricky and they came out with a few different layouts for us to choose from. First, they sent over three layouts and I really loved one of them but wanted to expand upon it and add a pantry. Here is the beginning floor plan so that you can get an idea! They had reworked one of the three original plans to include a pantry and as soon as I saw this, I knew this was the one! 

Previously, I have always designed the spaces in our home myself. It truly is time consuming and I knew this space would be really tricky with the elevations and such. Rehabitat helped us so much with this project and if you have it in your budget, it’s a no brainer. We feel so blessed to have been able to work with them. Overall, the project took about 4+ months but with COVID, I would say that’s pretty good overall! There are so many issues with manufacturing delays and such that I knew it was going to take longer than normal but be worth its weight in gold by the end! I am going to post some before & afters of the exact same areas next followed by the sources of the items that you see as well as paint sources!

This view is from the kitchen to the garage door! Huge transformation without that skinny hallway and we vaulted the ceiling!

We made this area that abuts the kitchen the new powder room! This was previously one half of the laundry room (an awful use of space)

This was the other half of the laundry room (as I said, terrible use of space) and we closed this off so that we could make the mudroom on the other side! I love that we took that little nook and made it into a sitting area! I feel like I am in a ski lodge! 

Right when you walk in from the garage and turned left, was the bathroom. We opened this whole space up and put the laundry here! 

This is looking out from the bathroom! This used to be a closet with a hallway and led to our backyard. We took out this door and made it a walk in pantry. We will be putting doors from our dining area into the backyard with the kitchen renovation!

Stackable Washer & Dryer | These are really awesome so far! I am 5’4 and can reach into the top dryer no problem. They are very large and perfect for our family! The only thing that someone suggested was this to hold the washer open so it doesn’t smell or get moldy which can be an issue with front loaders. However, I have heard that this one is really good about that! 

Laundry Sink & Faucet| I got the grate that fits with this sink so that it protects the bottom since this sink will be the one that faces a lot of wear and tear through the years!
