Hello + welcome to this tiny space on the internet! I created this blog (+ changed the name twice since) 14 years ago as a creative outlet from my career in the emergency room as a PA. After spending the past 7 (or so) years on social media outlets, I have decided to delete all of the ones associated with this blog and get back to the heart of blogging.
Today I am talking all about what to do and where to stay in the Hudson Valley! We had a girls weekend there a few weeks back and it was one of my favorite trips to date. The Hudson Valley is unbelievably gorgeous with it’s rolling hills, open air, & quaint restaurants and shops. If I could live anywhere in the world, it would probably be there – seriously! I have no idea how I got so lucky with finding this Airbnb in New Paltz but it truly is a GEM and I cannot wait to go back. The owners purchased this 88 acre lot so that they could have land to farm hops and this home was SO old but they were able to salvage it and make it incredibly beautiful. It also has another home, greenhouse and huge barn on the property. They hope to make it a wedding destination eventually and the barn will be made into a wedding barn. If they do, we are getting married all over again 😉

Here is the quick video I took on my phone of the Airbnb while we were there!
I must have taken about 50 photos of the inside of this home because it was so beautifully decorated. I loved the farmhouse meets mid century decor and how simple it was. I felt like it was very open and it made me want to de-clutter my entire home! Here are a million images from my iPhone that I just need to post here 🙂
My view while pumping 🙂
We originally planned this trip around the Country Living Fair (which by the way is AMAZING in case you haven’t been) and we decided to make a weekend out of it! The Country Living Fair is located in the town of Rhinebeck and New Paltz was about 20 minutes from there! Every single town in this region is beautiful and quaint – you cannot go wrong! I asked you all for your opinion on where we should go to eat and you had SO many suggestions that I decided to list them all out here!
WHERE TO EAT AROUND RHINEBECK, NEW PALTZ, & POUGHKEEPSIE NEW YORK
Starting off with the two places that we ate at when we stayed in New Paltz. We had dinner the first night at Mohonk Mountain House, which is absolutely STUNNING. The sunset views are incredible and it’s a great place to go to early afternoon and get the best for your buck (you have to pay at the gate to even enter). For breakfast the next morning we went to The Main Street Bistro because SO many of you suggested it and it was BOMB. Get “My friend Asparagus” and thank me later.

Millhouse Brewing Co. // Poughkeepsie
Nic L Inn // Poughkeepsie

As for activities to do, there are SO many! A few things that we plan to do when we go back next year is the lemon squeeze hike and the walkway over the Hudson!
Hi Lynzy! Do you know where I can find this listing or the address or the owner’s Contact info? The link is no longer valid. We are looking for a house in New Paltz, this one is incredible. Thank you so much!!
