I sincerely apologize ahead of time for the lengthy picture heavy post. I was really excited about this room and really went crazy with the amount of images I took. I wanted to create a space where family & friends could come and think that they were away on vacation. I wanted to create a cozy room that was a combination of farmhouse meets cottage. I linked all of the sources at the very end of this post!
The wood paneling was absolutely appalling and gave the entire room a dark, orange hue. I was disgusted by it and since we have ZERO time, decided that painting over it was the best and quickest solution. We used Benjamin Moore “Swiss Coffee” on the walls and “Simply White” on the trim.
This room gets SO much diffused light in the AM and direct light in the evening. It’s actually my favorite room in the house for lighting.
I cannot get over how much paint makes a difference. Honestly!
The only thing I will want to add eventually is some crown molding to the ceiling area. You can see the gap between the paneling and the ceiling and I despise it. But for now, we can wait.
Fresh farm picked flowers win my heart.
This last shot is a detail shot of the blinds we have. I love them and how they add a bit of texture to the window frame. Paired with the IKEA curtains, it’s a match in heaven! Lauren has the same setup in the majority of her home as well!
